"Wellcome" to Health!!!! Huskies take pride in a Healthy and active lifestyle!!!!!!
Flu season concerns!! The flu season will be upon us shortly but we can be protected against if we follow some basic guidelines. They seem simple------it's easy to do yet, it's easy to forget to do them. START NOW.......
1. WASH HANDS (when you get home from school, work, outside, shopping, before eating, after eating, handling pets, after you use the bathroom, etc.) Our hands are the quickest way germs spread.....take care of them!!!!!!
2. Don't put backpacks/purses on tables, countertops, coffee tables or anywhere else you may put food. (the bottoms of our backpacks and purses are full of bacteria, leave them on the floor)
3. Get plenty of sleep. This is extremely important for your immune system to get re charged. Do NOT fall asleep with the TV, radio, iPod or any other device on. You do not get a restful sleep with these on. Students should get between 8 - 9 hours of RESTFUL sleep and adults between 7 - 8 hours per night.
4. Balance your diet (portion control). Water is the best beverage for you, but that can get boring. Limit the amount of sugary drinks you consume each day. Limit the amount of sugary, salty or fattening foods per day. We love 'em, but we need to limit 'em.
5. START NOW!! Your immune system needs time to work up a resistance to the upcoming viruses, be aware of your habits now and start to make changes. The hardest part is getting started, once it becomes a habit, you stick with it.
Please check my calendar for any homework assignments, test dates and the subjects we are covering. Please understand that due to unforseen circumstances, things may change from this original calendar. I will always write on my board each day when things are due and things coming up!! :)
