REGISTRATION

On May 1, the 2008-2009 registration packets were sent home with elementary students in their backpacks and mailed to middle school parents. On July 1, packets will be mailed to high school parents.

Registration forms and fees for elementary and middle school students are due back at the schools by May 15. High school information is due back by July 15.

Also beginning this year, parents will have additional options for returning forms and paying fees, all of which the registration packets explain. Among other improvements, the changes mean that parents of elementary students will not have to return to school in early August.  Parents of middle school students also will have the option of not returning.  In addition, high school students and their parents who register by July 15 will move quicker through shorter lines at the high school in August.

Disclaimer

The Selective Service System requires all young men to register within 30 days before or after their 18th birthday. You can now register on-line at www.sss.gov.

Military recruiters and institutions of Higher education are entitled under federal law to a list of names, addresses and telephone number of high school students unless you object to such release.

If you do not want directory information released, you must tell the principal in writing what types of directory information you do not want released. That written notice to the principal must be received no later than 30 days of receiving this annual notice.

Parents must bring completed registration information to the schools where their children will be attending in the fall. The school district will mail registration packets to parents in late June.
